Dal Mare al Lago

Lago di Massaciuccoli - Oasi LIPU - Antichi resti romani - Pranzo tipico toscano

Una gita dedicata a chi ama la natura. Si parte dal Mare della Versilia e si costeggia fino alla pineta di levante di Viareggio dove inizia la prima strada non asfaltata. Immersi dentro al verde e al profumo dei pini si raggiunge Torre del Lago Puccini sulla costa ovest del Lago Massaciuccoli, dove potremo visitare la casa di Giacomo Puccini e il grande Teatro all’aperto a lui dedicato. Si riparte seguendo la costa e si raggiunge massaciuccoli e le ciclabili tra cui la “ Fiori di Loto” splendida strada costruita a tratti sopra il lago in mezzo ai Fiori di Loto fino a raggiungere Massarosa. Raggiunto il paese di Massaciuccoli si arriva alla Oasi LIPU dove è possibile avvistare nascosti tra i capanni diverse specie di uccelli rari e bellissimi. Con circa 700 metri di passerella che si snoda in mezzo ai canneti e falascheti si può ammirare, il pericoloso Falco di palude, piccoli passeriformi come l’Usignolo di fiume e il Forapaglie castagnolo o dove nidifica il Tarabusino, simbolo dell’Oasi.  La meta è vicina e finalmente un po’ di meritato riposo seduti al tavolo della trattoria sul lato est del lago potremo deliziarci il palato con il pranzo a base di affettati tipici toscani e tordelli. Al ritorno è possibile visitare l’area archeologica "Massaciuccoli romana"con Il Quartiere Termale e il Mosaico con animali fantastici.

Lake Massaciuccoli - LIPU Oasis - Ancient Roman Ruins - Typical Tuscan Lunch

A trip dedicated to nature lovers.

We start from the Versilia Sea and coast until the pine forest of Levante di Viareggio where the first unpaved road begins. Immersed in the green and the scent of the pines, we reach Torre del Lago Puccini on the west coast of Lake Massaciuccoli, where we can visit the house of Giacomo Puccini and the large open-air theater dedicated to him.

We leave following the coast and reach Massaciuccoli and the cycle paths including the "Fiori di Loto", a splendid road built in sections above the lake in the middle of the Lotus Flowers until reaching Massarosa.

Having reached the town of Massaciuccoli, we arrive at the LIPU Oasis where it is possible to spot different species of rare and beautiful birds hidden among the huts. With about 700 meters of walkway that winds through the reeds and fens, you can admire the dangerous Marsh Harrier, small passerines such as the River Warbler and the Black-headed Penduline Tit, or where the Bittern, the symbol of the Oasis, nests.

The destination is near and finally a bit of well-deserved rest sitting at the table of the trattoria on the east side of the lake we can delight our palate with lunch based on typical Tuscan cold cuts and tordelli.

On the way back, it is possible to visit the archaeological area "Massaciuccoli romana" with the Thermal Quarter and the Mosaic with fantastic animals.
